“Men
on Marriage,” a new,
live radio program, which debuts Thursday,
March 27th on ClearChannel WBZT 1230 AM
in South Florida, from 6:00-7:00 PM, live.
Live Web Stream on : http://www.wbzt.com/pages/streaming.html
Co-host Tim Kellis is the author of Equality:
The Quest for the Happy Marriage, at www.happyrelationships.com.
Kellis, a renowned Wall Street analyst,
brings science and logic to the relationship
equation. Tom Danks, a decades-long restaurateur-real
estate specialist and student of faith-based
initiatives, has honed his one-on-one
people skills and relationship building
prowess from both business and personal
life experiences.
Tim Kellis and Tom Danks have become
the nation’s newest and most innovative
relationship commentators. Tim brings years
of research and meditation on the topic
of relationships, while Tom Danks brings
a faith-based tilt to the conversation.
They both are excited about the debut of “Men
on Marriage.” According to Tom, “We
believe that the mix of our personalities
and the dedication Tim has undertaken with
his book to help couples understand relationships
will be embraced by both men and women
looking to make their relationships stronger.”
The hosts feel that most therapists today
are failing to make a dent in the divorce
rate. “ All that most therapists
do today is perform CPR on marriages close to
heart attacks. Unfortunately, marital
therapists spend their professional careers
engulfed in negative relationships so they
are simply too close to the problems to
see what solution is needed,” states
Tim Kellis.

Reviews:
Men on Marriage is an informative, entertaining
new radio talk show that's quite different
in content from anything on the air, certainly
in this market, with two men talking opening
and candidly about a subject that's perplexing
and challenging millions of couples today--marriage.
Co-hosts Tim Kellis and Tom Danks are an
engaging couple of characters themselves--a
provocative mesh of two quite different
personalities. Both have great voices and
I liked the banter and good natured teasing
they do as they pick up on each other's,
shall we say, vulnerabilities. Also, their
guests, like a former President of the
Home Bank, provide articulate and sensible
observations on balancing such things as
the financial side of marriage, to which
callers respond as the show obviously hits
sore spots in relationships today with
couples having to live on less. This show
definitely elicits a frank interchange
of ideas. Dank is right about teasing Kellis,
a former Wall Street analyst, not to read
too much from his new book, "Equality:
The Quest For a Happy Marriage." Kellis
should just paraphrase philosophers like
Carl Jung, which would make him sound even
more interesting and authoritative as Kellis
brings a Wall Street analyst's clear-headed
perspective to what works and doesn't work
in relationships. But he should go easy
on the self deprecation and have a bit
more fun rebutting and challenging he's
pal's teasing. The light sparring between
the two men is fun for listeners as they're
both coming at a sobering subject from
different angles and vantage points, and
obviously a long battle-scared friendship
that adds color and occasional sparks.
This is what makes the show most enjoyable
as well as enlightening. Kellis and Danks
probably can develop this format into something
worthy of syndication. Also the commercials
for Kellis's book were a cut above most
spots one hears today on the radio and
Danks does a nice job keeping the show
flowing and on target. Guests and call-ins
are going to help this show a lot by keeping
it fresh and relevant for listeners. In
summary, I believe these two characters
are on to something here as it's different
and refreshing to hear two highly intelligent,
informed and occasionally opinionated .
. . Men on Marriage.
